8th Annual New Play Competition
a showcase of literary talent
February 4 - 21, 2010

We've invited seven ALL STAR playwrights to an all out brawl center stage for a chance to win two roundtrip airline tickets and $1,000 cash. Audience members vote for their favorite one-act play each night. On closing night, we tally all the votes and award the cash and prizes. It's an unprecedented night of original works. Let's get ready to rumble. There is sure to be a knock out!

Hamlet by William Shakespeare
featuring TeCo's T-An-T (Teenagers and Theater) apprenticeship students
April 23 - 25, 2010

In partnership with the Dallas County Juvenile Department and the Volunteer Center of North Texas Truancy program, TeCo's T-An-T apprenticeship students tackle one of the Shakespeare's most complex works with explosive performances. Participants are both featured onstage and run the entire show backstage.

Hamlet, a Danish prince, discovers that his uncle Claudius murdered his father and took the throne; Hamlet's mother has married the usurper.  If life is so fleeting, and people can do such things, Hamlet wonders, why we are born at all? This Shakespearean production is dubbed is often dubbed as the greatest in English language.

A Medal for Murder - the world premiere of a modern mystery

It's the day before Veteran's Day, 1968, in Crook River Falls, Minnesota. Undertaker Pearl Paycock awaits the arrival of the town's first casualty of the Vietnam War, and the widow, the escort, the Colonel...and others...but is anyone who they say they are?
