T-AN-T Apprenticeship Program

In partnership with the Dallas County Juvenile Department and the Volunteer Center of North Texas Truancy Program, TeCo's T-An-T (Teenagers and Theatre) Apprenticeship Program is an innovative four-month workshop that targets Dallas area teenagers from economically disadvantaged families.  This after school course provides basic theater education, form, communication, construction and performance.  It gives the student on-the-job training in every genre of theatre working alongside theatre professionals.  The program culminates each year with a classical production during TeCo's regular season where the T-An-T student runs the entire show.  The goal is to divert juvenile offenders from further involvement in the judicial system and give participants vision for their life.  The 2010 program culminates with Hamlet on April 23 - 25 at the Bishop Arts Theater Center under the direction of theatre impresario Phyllis Wallace-Dunn.

The 2010 program is made possible by the generosity of our sponsors:  City of Dallas, Junior League of Dallas, George and Fay Young Foundation, Ronald McDonald House Charities, United States Census 2010, and the Oak Cliff Lions Club.
