T-AN-T Apprenticeship Program
In conjunction with the Dallas County Juvenile System, TeCo’s T-An-T (Teenagers and Theatre) apprenticeship program is an innovative four month after-school workshop that stresses practical knowledge with the aim of preparing students for a career in theatre where the students work alongside theatre professionals. It provides basic theatre education, form, communication, construction and performance and exposes participants to every genre of theatre, including sound & lighting design, directing, writing, stage management and performing on stage. The workshop will conclude this year with King Hedley II by August Wilson during TeCo's main stage season where the T-An-T student runs the entire show. The anticipated outcomes for this program include an increase in self-esteem, decrease in juvenile crime and these adolescent student participants develop vision for their life.
